Honey Moon

I love me some Honey Moon.

Of course I'm also looking forward to this kind of honeymoon too:

I originally planned to leave the honeymoon up to the dude. After going to that ridiculous bridal show I dumped a bunch of brochures and info on his desk. And there it sat. And sat. And sat. And sat.

Every once in a while I would nag politely ask about our honeymoon plans and glance over at the pile of brochures collecting dust on his desk. After a few months of this my fiance reminded me that I was just a little too neurotic excited about the honeymoon and he didn't really want to plan the entire thing without my input anyways so why don't we just do it together?

Although I kind of wanted to just sit back and watch him to do the work on this one, truth be told... He's right. And so, we did it together!

The first thing to do was to narrow down location. We knew we wanted to go somewhere in the Caribbean. We just had to decide where. Easy enough, right? Well, considering there are literally hundreds of Caribbean islands we needed to get a bit more specific. So we created a list of about 20 islands that we would be interested in going to. There was really no rhyme or reason to this list. Some of them just sounded cool (Tobago!), others we were familiar with ("Oh so-and-so when to St. Lucia and loooooved it!")... It was a really scientific list in case you couldn't tell!

We started looking into the types of resorts and reviews each island had and started to whittle down our list.

Our top three islands were (in no particular order):

1. Antigua
2. Jamaica
3. St. Lucia

Now that we had narrowed down our islands we started to decide what type of honeymoon we wanted.

Did we want adventurous?

Romantic?

Secluded?

We decided that after the whirlwind that will be our wedding we want a quiet, relaxing honeymoon. All-inclusive is a must and adults only would be a sweet plus. But we also don't want complete and total seclusion. And so we set off to find a resort where we can have a quiet relaxing vacation without going bonkers from boredom after three days.

What type of honeymoon are you having?
