Numbering the Tables

One of the pros (or maybe it's a con, I haven't decided yet) of a long engagement is having all the time in the world to make a decision. A lot of my ideas have kind of morphed and evolved over time. One of the less important details, but one I can't stop thinking about right now is the table numbers.

Before we even chose our venue I was looking at table numbers and centerpieces.

I've looked at millions of inspiration photos, but my favorite so far has been the "Through the Years" table numbers that Mrs. Jellyfish created:

I'm ridiculously sentimental and a photo lover so for a while I was pretty content to steal this entire idea start to finish and be done with it. Then one day while I was stalking looking at pretty pictures of my venue on Facebook my eyes landed on this:

Okay I know that looks very simple and uninspiring, but stay with me! The candelabras shown in the photo come with our venue and we've decided to use them for our centerpieces. I know they are going to overpower the table so we really don't need anything complicated for the table numbers. And the more I started to think about these luminaries, the more my options seemed to expand. Soon I found myself collecting inspiration photos like these:

There are so many ways to make this simple table number idea unique and awesome!

And so, my first DIY idea has been born. I am so excited to get started on it and I realllllly hope it turns out the way I envision it.

I'm still toying with a few different ways of implementing it, but you can definitely expect to see a mock-up from me soon. I'll probably try a few versions until I find one I like. I have been thinking about going with a simple round luminary and flanking each side with a photo of us at that age in a silver frame. Or I might go with that last inspiration photo up there, but I'm not sure how much of a pain it's going to be to convert all the photos to black and white and print them on the vellum. Hmmmm.....

Did any of your details change for the better the longer you thought about them?
